“The northern foothills of Khao Yai National Park ~ a peaceful, environmentally friendly get-away with beautiful scenery, temperate climate and some of Thailand’s best known vineyards.”
-Amazing Thailand

The Khao Yai wine region of Thailand is superbly located at the edge of the scenic Khao Yai National Park; a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is one of the oldest and best known nature sanctuaries in Thailand and home to over 300 animal and bird species and 2,000 types of vegetation. There are several vineyards that lie just outside of the park, set amidst the beautiful and varied landscapes that the area is so well known for.

The Thai winery, PB Valley, is one of the wineries that benefits from the cooler temperatures here, as is the thousand-acre Khao Yai Winery, opened in 1989, which specialises in Shiraz and Chenin Blanc wines as well as the GranMonte Family Vineyard in the Asoke Valley of Khao Yai. The valley is outstandingly rich in natural beauty and known for the delicate yellow blossom flower that is special to the region.

Vineyards and a UNESCO World Heritage Site nestled amidst stunning natural beauty

Khao Yai is at the northern latitude of 14.3 and the wineries here are found at altitudes ranging from 300-500 metres above sea level. The vineyards benefit from cool and dry conditions which are perfect for growing wine grapes. Conditions that are favourable too for the traveller looking to savour the wonderful flavours produced by the combination of climate and location, as well as the skill of the growers and producers of the region.
